A few hours at the beach

Two weeks ago today I packed up the car and we ventured to the beach. What was forecast as a 32 degree day turned out to be not so warm, warm enough for Izzy to brave the water though.

It was blowing a gale when we got there, but eased off after we ate our lunch and we had a very enjoyable and relaxing few hours. So glad I didn't procrastinate at home about the weather and just went for it. It wasn't perfect, but if I waited around for perfect, we wouldn't go anywhere or do anything.

  1. That sounds fun. I love the photos. Those flowers would have brightened the day.

    1. I see these flowers around our coast, they are very bright against the seascape and sand. Must be some sort of native, they must be tough growing in the sand and putting up with the salty air.

    1. People say Izzy more so than Summer, especially when I was little.

  4. Wow our girls have the same togs and we have the same picnic blanket - great minds! Look at all those boats on the water? Looks like they had a ball :)

    1. They are all lobster boats, the cray season started on the 1st October. I remember seeing your girl in those togs, and that blanket lives in the boot of my car :)

  5. The water looks choppy. Looks like the girls still had fun despite the wind :)

    1. We all had a good time, nice to be out of the house. The sea was choppy, and dirty too from the weed, no biggy though :)

  6. Beautiful photos Alicia! I'm glad you didn't think twice about the weather, because it looks like the kids had a ball! We often think "should we, shouldn't we?" about the our fickle Tasmanian weather, but if we make the commitment to go somewhere, it always turns out well, kids will have fun in any weather!! xx

  8. I find it amazing that children don't feel cold with the wind especially when there is water involved like at the beach ???

  9. Your girls are seriously adorable. Nice that Izzy likes the water. I still have to bribe my eldest to get in :)
